- Tests on strap type bike carriers exist, as per draft standard ISO 15-263-4.
- The purpose of this test is to measure the tensile strength of the product in various directions; it is equivalent to the quasi-static tests performed on roof bike carriers.
- Additional dynamic tests are performed on a test track: driving over Belgian paving stones and driving over sleeping policeman (urban speed bump) when installed on a vehicle.
- Lastly, there are tests concerning the tearing and tensile strength of the attachment mode, i.e. the straps and hooks for attachment on the vehicle.
